It’s easy to come out of a good brainstorm and abandon all the truly innovative ideas as too risky, opting instead for safety and more of the same. Whenever we feel under pressure, we tend to go for safe options. This checklist can help you stay focussed on new ideas as well as safe ideas. Use it to evaluate a range of ideas based on whether they are FUN:

• Feasible
• Unexpected
• New

If you need a safe bet or a quick win, you’ll probably go for the most feasible idea. If you’ve got time and desire to experiment and push boundaries, pick ideas that score highest on unexpected and new.
