This tool reframes problems as open-ended questions. Instead of saying ‘we can’t afford it’, you say ‘how might we find the money to pay for it?’ It might seem like a tiny change but it takes a roadblock (‘we can’t’) and offers you the chance to find ways round it (‘how might we?’)
Try it and see what difference it makes. You will find this tool helps with two kinds of problems. It will help you spot gaps in your market – after all, what is a gap except an unsolved problem? And it will help you find ways round the problems your project will inevitably hit.
